Overview of KBC Bank Ireland plc Corporate Treasury Division

1. Corporate, Credit Union and Institutional Deposits

As part of a major European banking and Insurance Group (KBC Group NV), we offer a range of Deposit Products to the Corporate, Credit Union & Institutional Market.

2. Foreign Exchange

The Foreign Exchange division of our Corporate Treasury Division covers Spot & Forward FX.

KBC will cease all its FX activities with effect from 31st July. We remain open to accepting FX transactions up to the closure date on condition that the maturity date of the contract is no greater than 31st July 2022. Customers do not need to take any action as a result of this announcement, however, should you continue to require foreign exchange services, you will need to source a new provider.

Overview of KBC Bank NV, Dublin Branch

KBC Bank NV, Dublin Branch (“KBCD”) is a full branch of KBC NV. It has a short term credit rating of A1/P1 and its main area of business is the generation of deposits from large corporates and non-bank financial institutions.

KBC Dublin has no retail operations.

EMIR Exemption Disclosure

Disclosure of the exemption on the exchange of initial margin in case of intragroup OTC derivative transactions pursuant to the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR)

In accordance with Article 11(11) and Article 11(14)(d) of the Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 (EMIR regulation) and Article 20 of the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 149/2013, counterparties that have received an exemption from this regulation for intragroup OTC derivative transactions are obliged to publicly disclose information on this exemption. As KBC Bank Ireland and its parent KBC Bank NV have been granted exemption from exchanging initial margin for intragroup OTC derivative transactions, details regarding this exemption are published below.

The received exemption is a partial exemption, limited to the exchange of initial margin for intragroup OTC derivative transactions. There is no exemption for the exchange of variation margin.

The notional aggregate amount of the OTC derivative contracts between KBC Bank Ireland Plc and KBC Bank NV is detailed below. The notional amount detailed is at the end of August 2021.
